Today we are delighted to offer for sale a vintage and quite wonderful abstract vase by Rhode Island artist Eugene Tonoff! Eugene Tonoff was born in 1928 in Bulgaria, and moved to Rhode Island in the 1940s. Tonoff went on to become a graduate from the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), innovative artist, educator, and founder of the Tonoff School of Art & the leading gallery in Providence, the Tonoff Gallery on Peck Street. This thought-provoking, hand-made and hand-polychromed ceramic vase is painted in a modern and abstract style, with surrealist female face figures set upon a watercolor-like background of pale colors such as lilac, ecru, blue, green, and gray. The style of the vase is reminiscent of the pottery works of Pablo Picasso. The piece is signed “Tonoff”. The vase presents beautifully and is in very good vintage condition, with very minimal display wear, and no chips or cracks. This is a wonderful opportunity to own an original and unique work of art by a renowned artist! A truly fabulous piece that looks like it belongs at the Guggenheim or the MOMA! Add style and refined connoisseurship to any room in your home or business with this masterpiece! Fresh to the market!
