Sächsische Porzellanmanufaktur Dresden (Saxon Porcelain Manufactory in Dresden), often known in English simply as Dresden Porcelain, is a porcelain factory in Freital near Dresden, which was founded in 1872 and still keeps alive the long tradition of European porcelain art. Since 1902, Dresden Porcelain has a blue “SP Dresden” registered trademark. This elegant and ornate piece is finely crafted and detailed of soft paste porcelain. The footed centerpiece bowl/dish features a swirling pierced rococo body adorned with hand-painted floral bouquets and accented with semi-three dimensional applied porcelain flowers. The piece features gilded painted accents and is supported by four sabot feet. Marked on the bottom with Dresden SP logo. Bowl presents beautifully and is in very good vintage condition, with very minor expected display wear and patina commensurate with age. Flowers on both sides have minor chips to petals and fleabite chips. This elegant bowl will make a fine addition to any antique and vintage German Dresden porcelain collection…Fresh to the market!
