Today’s offering is “nun” other than this very sweet little doll, which is one of the cuter ones we’ve come “a-cross” (Sorry for the puns… it’s a bad “habit”). This youthful Catholic Nun doll has stayed in good condition with all fingers, feet, ears, and fabrics intact. We got her lovingly wrapped in tissue paper and have kept her there to avoid damaging or dirtying a doll that appears to be in great condition with only minor cleanable soiling. We believe her to be made in Japan, but since there aren’t any markings on her we aren’t positive. Her sleepy-eyes work great with no delay and natural movement. The white collar and nun cap are made of a cream vinyl, while the rest is black and cream fabric. The body is made of plastic (probably Celluloid), as are the arms and legs. The seam line on the head has separated a bit at the bottom on each side. Such is the nature of celluloid, but it’s not objectionable looking and appears to be quite stable. You have to search to find this but we mention it for accuracy. The only noticeable coloration blemish anywhere is right on the bottom of the shins, where two darkened lines can be found, and the only other damage is a small rip on the back seam of the dress. The doll comes with a hanging white crucifix that says “INRI” (Iēsus Nazarēnus, Rēx Iūdaeōrum). She stands 10″ tall.
