Today we are happy to offer for sale an all-original vintage 1940’s/1950’s Meccano No. 7 Model Erector Set! Meccano is a model construction system created in 1898 by Frank Hornby in Liverpool, United Kingdom. The system consists of reusable metal strips, plates, angle girders, wheels, axles and gears, and plastic parts that are connected together using nuts, bolts and set screws (also known as grub screws). It enables the building of working models and mechanical devices. Meccano maintains a manufacturing facility in Calais, France. This wonderful vintage erector set, no. 7 comes in the original presentation box from Meccano. Inside there are are three compartments full of building pieces, bolts, screws, etc. The set comes with two instruction manuals for the no. 7 and 8, and no. 6 outfit. This very awesome set of pieces allows the user to create a multitude of working models and mechanical devices, such as boats, trucks, bridges, etc. This is a great toy to stimulate creativity and inventiveness in any child! The item presents very well and is in very good vintage, played-with condition, with minor wear/scuffing and patina commensurate with age. Box has minor wear to corners. We do not know if there are any missing pieces/bolts/etc, the lot is sold as-found.
