Today we are offering for sale a delightful vintage metal elephant incense burner, in a whimsical chinoiserie manner. This small and darling piece is intricately cast in metal and finished with a faux-bronze patinated finish. The happy elephant is joyfully carrying an elegant pagoda that is harnessed on his back. The pagoda rests on a tasseled rug. The elephant’s trunk is up which means “good luck” in Chinese culture. The pagoda is removable in order to place incense in the elephant; the pagoda’s sides are opens for the aroma to dissipate. In very good vintage condition, with minor wear and patina commensurate with age and use. Some loss to paint finish only adds charm.
