Today we are delighted to offer for sale a fabulous pair of antique French Louis XV boudoir chairs! This beautiful pair dates to the 1920’s and features a graceful and Louis XV style with hints of streamlined Art Deco. Each chair is finely crafted and detailed. The small and elegant arm chairs features delicate Louis XV rococo-style gilded legs and scrolled arms with carved decorations. The chairs are nicely upholstered in vintage light chartreuse-colored velvet fabric accented with coordinating passementerie trim. The small legs feature casters to facilitate movement. These darling chairs are known today as “frog chairs” and were popularized by iconic California designer Michael Taylor. The pair presents well and is in good antique condition, with wear and patina commensurate with age and use. The legs and arms have minor scuffing and loss to gilding; one chairs has an old repaired crack and is slightly wobbly (can be easily repaired). The fabric has minor wear, fraying, and patina. One chair has a small hole on upholstery. The set is sold as-found. This fabulous pair of chairs will look wonderful in a dressing room or vanity table, and are the perfect small and intimate piece to accent any room. Fresh to the market!
