Meriden Britannia Sterling 4pc Tea Set +Tray

DESCRIPTION: This is a beautiful four-piece sterling silver hollowware tea service from the Meriden Britannia Company of Meriden, CT! The Georgian-inspired pattern features broad faceted sides, curved handles with feathered details at the tops, and faceted oval bases for a timeless look. Each piece is stamped with the Meriden Britannia mark, along with the word “sterling,” and identifying numbers. Each piece is monogrammed with a handsome and subtle “MB.”

This set includes:

• 1 teapot with a 1-3/4 pint capacity and hinged lid. Stamped 810-7 on the underside. Teapot has a small nick and small, faint dings on the lid. Appx. 7-3/4″ in height, 11-1/4″ in length (including handle and spout), 5-1/2″ in width/depth. Base measures 4-1/8″ in by 2-3/4″ in. Weight: 556 grams
• 1 covered sugar bowl with two handles and removable lid. Stamped 810-7 on the underside. Appx. 6-1/2″ in height including lid, 8-1/4″ in length including handles, 4-1/2″ in width/depth. Base measures 3-3/4″ in by 2-5/6″ in. Weight: 384 grams
• 1 open creamer. Stamped 810-7 on the underside. Appx. 6-3/4″ in height, 5″ in length including handle and spout, 3″ in width/depth. Base measures 3-1/8″ in by 2-1/8″ in. Weight: 249 grams
• 1 waste bowl. Stamped 810 on the underside. Appx. 4″ in height, 6-1/8″ in length, 3-3/4″ in width/depth. Base measures 3-5/8″ in by 2-1/2″ in. Weight: 185 grams

We are also including a silverplate tray that is NOT from the pattern, but looks good with it. This should be considered a freebie. Its monogram is harder to read (appears to be “van B”?). Tray measures appx. 18-1/2″ in length including handles, 10-7/8″ in width/depth, and 7/8″ in height

CONDITION: Set presents well and is in very good antique, gently-used condition, with minor wear, light scuffing, and patina commensurate with age. Some minor dings are present, but very few noteworthy blemishes have been found. We gave this a quick polish; you may wish to do more.
