Today we are happy to offer for sale a wonderful set of antique French candy-making melting spoons!
This wonderful set is composed of three melting spoons that are each finely crafted and detailed of cast steel with a silver-plated finish; the handles are nicely and tightly wrapped in bamboo weave swirling around the entire neck of the handle.
The spoons, in 3 different sizes, were used in large cauldrons to melt glazes and sugars for candy-making a bakery/candy shop. Each spoon is marked “France”.
The spoons measure 14-1/2″, 16″ and 17″ inches in length and the bowls measure 9″, 7-1/4″, 5″ inches across, respectively.
The 3 pieces weigh a total of 5Lb and 2oz.
Set of spoons presents well and is in good antique condition, with minor wear and patina commensurate with age. There is minor loss to plating; there is minor wear to bamboo handles.
