***This listing is one of several lots of antique sterling silver we are listing today. Please save us to your favorite sellers or bookmark and check back to see the other fine silver offerings!*** Today we are delighted to offer for sale a rare set of 12 beautiful Fessenden Silver sterling teaspoons in the fanciful Avon pattern! Fessenden & Co (1858-1922) of Providence, RI (just a few miles from our shop) was a manufacturer of luxury flatware, holloware, novelties and souvenir spoons. This beautiful set of 12 dessert/teaspoons is finely crafted and detailed. The spoons are in the ornate Avon pattern, introduced in the early 1900’s at the high of the Gilded Age. The pattern is noted for its beaded arabesque pattern accented with a caryatid reminiscent of the early Rococo style of 18th-century France. The set features a fanciful “B” monogram (your local jeweler can remove themonograms if you don’t want them). The spoons each measure 5-5/8″ in length and weigh a total of 316 grams (that’s heavy… over 10 troy ounces!). Marked on the back with the Fessender hallmarks and “sterling”. Set of spoons presents beautifully and are in very good antique condition, with very minor wear, scuffing, tarnishing, and patina commensurate with age and use. A tough pattern to find. Fresh to the market! NOTE: Shipping cost is comprised of mostly insurance. We do not mark up shipping. 19GW/1665/K/F
