Description
This elaborate antique spoon is incredible, both in condition and detail. It’s Dutch, and made out of sterling silver it has considerable weight and is marked in multiple places. It even comes in the original box with label.
The box helps to determine the age of the spoon as we can tell from experience that it is at least turn-of-the-century vintage.
The box says: “Imitatie geboortelepel Lijsbert Mintjes/ (Wed. Douwe Egberts)/ geb. 20 Juli 1767”.
This translates directly as “Replica birth spoon Lijsbert Mintjes / ( Wed. Douwe Egberts ) / b. July 20, 1767.”
