Today we are pleased to offer for sale a beautiful and large set of sterling silver flatware by Gorham & Whiting Silver Co. of North Attleboro, Mass.
This impressive flatware is made in the regal King Albert pattern, which was patented in 1919 but made for many years. This elegant and noble pattern was beautifully designed by Adolph Reimherr. It features a flared coffin handle with beaded border and a scroll and flower accented tip. This is a huge serving set for 6-12, 94 total pieces consisting of:
- 10 Rounded soup spoons, 7″
- 8 hollow handle knives, 8-1/2″, stainless blades
- 6 large dinner knives, 9-1/2″, stainless blades
- 6 large serving spoons, 8-1/4″
- 6 fruit knives, 7″, pointed stainless blades
- 1 master butter knife, 6-3/8″
- 1 meat carving fork, 11-1/4″, stainless tines, missing the legs which cause it to stand
- 12 dinner forks, 7-3/4″
- 12 dessert/salad forks, 7-1/4″
- 11 large teaspoons, 7-1/8″
- 11 teaspoons, 5-7/8″ and
- 10 seafood forks, 5-3/8″
Lot presents well and is in good antique, used condition, with minor wear/scuffing, tarnish and patina commensurate with age and light use. One knife’s handle is slighlty loose from blade.
