If you’re a collector of Vernonware then you know you’ve found something special in this rare “Heavenly Day” saucer! Measuring 6 1/8″ in diameter and 1/2″ in height, this saucer is a wonderful mid-century modern design. Elliott House designed this “Heavenly Days” line, which Vernon Potteries of Los Angeles, California, produced from 1956 to 1958, and by Metlox Pottery (which bought Vernon in 1958) until about 1965. The top of the plate has crosses, lines, and boxes in turquoise, brown, and raspberry. The bottom is stamped “VERNON’S ‘Heavenly Days’ MADE IN U.S.A.” The plate is in very good antique condition, with no chips, cracks, or repairs and only the lightest of surface abrasions typical of infrequent use (if used at all). Whether you’re a serious collector of pieces by Vernon Potteries (or Metlox) or just looking for a stellar example of a mid-century saucer for your next tea time, this rare plate would make a wonderful addition to your collection! Buy one or buy them all before they go to someone else’s home!
