Today we are thrilled to be offering for sale a gorgeous and elegant “Persian Rose” by Minton Royal Doulton fine bone chine service for 12 with extras! Mintons was a major ceramics manufacturing company, originated with Thomas Minton (1765–1836) the founder of “Thomas Minton and Sons”, who established his pottery factory in Stoke-upon-Trent, Staffordshire, England, in 1793, producing earthenware. He formed a partnership, Minton & Poulson, c.1796, with Joseph Poulson who made bone china from c.1798 in his new near-by china pottery. When Poulson died in 1808, Minton carried on alone, using Poulson’s pottery for china until 1816. He built a new china pottery in 1824. The products are more often referred to as “Minton”, as in Minton china. Minton was merged with Royal Doulton in 1968. Royal Doulton was an English ceramic manufacturing company producing tableware and collectibles, dating from 1815. Operating originally in London, its reputation grew in The Potteries, where it was a latecomer compared to Royal Crown Derby, Royal Worcester, Wedgwood, Spode and Mintons. Its products include dinnerware, giftware, cookware, porcelain, glassware, collectibles, jewelry, linens, curtains and lighting. Royal Doulton closed in 2015. This fabulous fine bone porcelain china set, composed of 61 beautiful pieces, is designed in the “Persian Rose” pattern; this is the “newer” version of the pattern, introduced in 1980 and produced until 1998.
