Today we are happy to offer for sale a great late 19th century Victorian-era pair of handcuffs made by Hiatt!
Hiatt & Company began manufacturing handcuffs and slave-chains in the 1780s and was the largest supplier of handcuffs to the British police. The company ceased operations in 2008.
This pair of standard handcuffs is crafted of a ferrous metal (probably iron) and includes the original key. Partial markings include “3”, “SES7”, “Warranted Wrought”.
Cuffs are in good antique as-found condition, with expected wear, rusting, oxidation, and patina commensurate with age. Key lock mechanism does not work; key is rusted and stuck inside.
Dimensions: 8″ in length, 2-3/4″ in height, 3/4″ in depth
