Today we are delighted to be offering for sale a gorgeous vintage Manchester “Amaryllis” 89-piece sterling silver service with NO MONOGRAMS! The Manchester Silver Co. was founded by William H. Manchester as W.H. Manchester & Co in the year 1887 in Providence, RI. The company subsequently acquired the dies of Richard Dimes Co. around the 1950s. They manufactured both sterling silver flatware and hollowware. Manchester Silver Co. lasted until 1985, where their dies were sold to Boardman. This exquisite pattern, named Amaryllis after the lovely and delicate flower, was introduced in 1951. The pattern is noted for its’ elegant and ornate Baroque decoration. This beautiful service of 89 pieces is crafted of fine 925 sterling silver; the pieces still shine and sparkle and have very little tarnish! The pieces are all marked on the back “Manchester Sterling/ Amaryllis” and the filled handle items (knives and some serving utensils) are also marked “Manchester Sterling Handle/Stainless Blade”. The total weight of the set without the filled handle items is 2882 grams. Quite a substantial service! The set is composed of the following pieces:

Set presents beautifully and is in very good vintage condition, with very minimal wear/scuffing and tarnishing from being used a handful of times through the years. Storage box is in very good condition, with minor surface wear/scuffing. This elegant and refined American-made set is a masterpiece of old New England craftsmanship!
