Today we are happy to offer for sale a beautiful vintage 1950’s Mexican mid century modernist artisan sterling silver reversible pendant necklace!
This fabulous piece is the epitome of fine artisan craftsmanship and design. The piece is finely crafted and detailed and the work of a highly talented and creative silversmith. The streamlined modernist pendant features a stylistic reversible three-dimensional design. One side features the sun (day) hiding behind a mighty and tall tree with meandering roots which appear to be enveloping the sun (which has one eye visible peeking through the roots). The reverse side features a half moon rising behind the same tree with meandering roots; a figure is sitting up in the tree in front of the moon forming its face. The piece is marked on the bail “925 MP 23”, the chain is marked “sterling”.
Pendant presents beautifully and is in very good vintage condition, with very minor wear, tarnish and patina commensurate with age.
