Description
DESCRIPTION: At first we thought this deep purple stone was a heat-treated amethyst, until we used our gemstone tester on it and it immediately flagged as topaz! This rare and beautiful gem is set in a fanciful 10k gold filigree frame that dates to the Victorian era. The frame features elaborate scrollwork and seed pearl accents. The back has a simple straight pin and c-hook closure. The back of the gemstone is exposed when viewed from the other sides. Unmarked but acid-tested as 10k gold.
DIMENSIONS: 1-1/8″ in width (including pin, which is visible on one side), 1″ in height, 1/4″ in depth
WEIGHT: 9 grams
CONDITION: Brooch is offered in very good antique condition, with some wear and patina commensurate with age and use. Stone has natural wear and patina but no major damage noted. Actual straight pin has curvature; pin will still close securely. Please view all photos.
