This lovely piece features a large rectangular emerald-cut spinel gemstone of great coloring and brilliance surrounded by an ornately engraved open work filigree frame. The setting has hand cut and engraved leaves and flourishes ending in small spheres. The sides of the setting are filigree scroll work; the bail is dart shaped with bright cuts and marked “585,” for 14K gold. This is a European pendant, probably the work of a skilled craftsman in Italy.
Pendant presents beautifully and is in excellent antique, pre-owned condition, with very minimal wear and patina commensurate with age. Chain not included.
