Today we are thrilled to offer for sale a rare and stunning vintage gold and emerald ladies’ bespoke bolo tie pendant!
This fabulous bolo tie comes from the estate of a refined woman of means who had homes in Newport, RI and a ranch in Texas. The stylish lady commissioned a high-end jeweler in the 1960’s to craft a chunky one-of-a-kind solid gold bolo tie adorned with emeralds, which were her birthstone, to wear at the ritzy hoedowns she enjoyed attending.
The bolo tie is the epitome of style, grace, elegance, and is custom designed and executed with the utmost quality and craftsmanship. The piece is crafted of nearly 2 ounces of solid and marked 18 karat yellow gold. The delicate and airy setting features a byzantine-style central cage with reticulated arabesque detailing. From either end of the side scrolls dangles tulip-topped chained tassels hung with multi-linked chain. The bottom of the bolo tie features an articulated half-moon pendant adorned with ascending geometrical chain fringe with sphere-bottoms. The cage setting features a pair of clasped openings to inset the bolo tie cord/chain or the rolled ends of a scarf.
The piece may be used as a scarf tie, with a heavy silk braided cord of your choosing (search: “Piaget Braided Silk Cord” right here on eBay), or worn as a necklace with a chain. The bolo tie is adorned with sixteen round-cut genuine (not lab created) Colombian emeralds of great coloring and brilliance. The total carat weight is 0.85cts.
Having only been warn a handful of times, the piece presents beautifully and is in excellent vintage “as-new” condition, with minimal if any wear and patina commensurate with age.
