Today we are delighted to offer for sale a stunning vintage Baume et Mercier gold ladies wrist watch!
Baume & Mercier was founded as “Frères Baume” in 1830 by brothers Louis-Victor and Célestin Baume, who opened the watch dealership in Les Bois, a village in the Swiss Jura. The Swiss watch manufacturer expanded internationally by establishing a branch in London in 1851 under the name “Baume Brothers”, which led to expansion throughout the British Empire. The world renowned luxury company is still in business!
This fabulous and classic watch is expertly and intricately crafted and detailed. The watch face is crafted of luminous mother of pearl with 28 sparkling diamonds inset around it, and 4 more diamonds markers on the face itself. The case is further enhanced by two delicate Sapphire polished cabochons inset above and below the face. The original 18k watch band features a beautiful woven link pattern. The back of the watch reads “Baume & Mercier”, “Geneve”, “18k”, “16751 060”, and “2431690”. This watch is meant to be worn by a petite and thin woman with very slender wrists – its un-clasped length is only 6.5″ and the inner circumference is 5-3/4″ – any jeweler should be able to easily add extra links to accommodate a large wrist size.
Watch presents beautifully and is in very good vintage condition, with very minimal wear and light surface wear commensurate with age and occasional use/handling. Watch was recently professionally serviced and is running perfectly. Please review all photos before purchasing.
