DESCRIPTION: Superb, early Rene Lalique signed original black stained and black enameled ‘Fleur’ pattern Bowl c. 1912. The bowl is designed to look like a flower head – it is unusually molded on the inside, with raised enameling and on the outside with black (darkest grey) original staining. This is a very special designed the first ever of the small bowl designs (Ref Marcilhac 3100) -it is a heavily over engineered and complex design – Later designed bowls (mostly created 10 or more years later) were much more simply made. When first produced the bowl must have been very expensive to make and probably commanded a high price -it is beautifully signed “R Lalique”. Rene Lalique was possibly the most famous of all glass makers -the most collectable pieces by him are those produced during his lifetime (ie pre-1945), most of these are signed, R Lalique like this piece.

CONDITION: The bowl presents beautifully, and is in very good antique condition, with minimal display wear and patina. Some leaves have minor loss to stained finish. No chips or cracks. Please review all photos before purchasing. Thank you!
