Description
Today we are happy to offer a fabulous and rare antique English cranberry glass epergne centerpiece! An epergne is an ornamental luxurious centerpiece for a dining table, typically used for holding fruit or flowers. This beautiful example comes from the estate of a 100 year old English woman who moved to Rhode Island over 80 years ago.
The epergne is expertly designed and finely detailed. The piece is crafted of cranberry glass and features a center bowl with ruffled edge, with a center decorated ormolu holder piece which supports the upper part of the epergne. The piece features five floral “trumpets”, a larger center one and four smaller side ones. Each trumpet features clear applied swirled decoration with a clear bottom stem. The epergne is very delicate and precious and will look stunning adorning a dining table or sideboard and can be used just as is or enhanced with beautiful cut flowers!
Epergne presents beautifully and is in excellent antique condition, with very minimal display wear and patina commensurate with age. There are a few minute imperfections/bubbles on glass commensurate with the manufacturing process. No chips or cracks.
Dimensions: 10″ in diameter (at the widest point), 20-3/4″ in height
