This piece dates to the 1930s and is so evocative of the Art Deco period. The chandelier is finely crafted and detailed. The frame features a loop finial accented with skyscraper detail; below, the chandelier body features a skyscraper-shaped 5-panel framework composed of ascending bars terminating in floral panels. Five pointed white glass panels with beveled edges and floral etched motif are interspersed in the framework and conceal a light in the center of the chandelier. Five chandelier arms extend between the panels, each supporting a downward facing bobeche with a scalloped border. The frame is chrome plated with hand-painted gilt accents. The chandelier still retains its original chain and matching ceiling cap.
Chandelier presents well and is in good antique condition: it has surface wear, tarnish, minor oxidation and patina commensurate with age. There is minor loss to gilt finish and losses to chromed finish. The ceiling cap has old glue residue around its outer edge. Fixture is in working condition. Slip glass shades has a few edge fleabite chips. Light bulbs not included.
Dimensions: 17-1/2″ in diameter, 16″ in height (w/o canopy & chain), 28-3/4″ in height (with canopy & chain), 5-3/4″ diameter ceiling canopy
