Today we are excited to offer for sale this antique paper cutter made by Golding Manufacturing Co. of Boston Massachusetts! This paper cutter features all original iron and wood elements, with a beautiful time-earned patina. Marked on the side is “Boston Cutter; Golding Mfg Co. Franklin, Mass; Pat. U.S. Eng. Fr. Ger.” Golding & Co. relocated its factories to Franklin from the Fort Hill area of Boston in 1906, so this piece dates to 1906-1918. This paper cutter is in excellent working condition. The blade is reaonably sharp and works fine on bond paper. A little precision sharpening might be in order if you intend to cut delicate tissue paper or heavy board. The cutting gauge works smoothly and locks tight as intended. It has signs of use and there are expected nicks and several small cracks in the wood. A great addition to any antique and vintage industrial and steampunk collection and by all means… it is usable! Dimensions: 20 1/2″ long at the blade, 11 1/2″ wide, and 6″ in height at the corner NOTE: Shipping cost includes full insurance. We do not mark up shipping.
