Today we are happy to offer for sale a great antique Victorian leather and bronze compass carrying case.
The piece features a rigid and sturdy square-shaped leather body with attached lid decorated with heavy bronze mount; the sides features a shoulder carrying strap. The box was most likely used to store a compass or ammo of some sort. The piece appears to be of European origin.
Item is in good antique condition, with wear/scuffing, tarnish and patina commensurate with age and use. Leather strap and latch are torn – item sold as-found.
