TITLE: Piero Fallaci Italy 800 Silver Rococo Enameled Powder Mirror Compact Case Box
DESCRIPTION: This wonderful piece dates to the 1950’s and was created by renowned silversmith Piero Fallaci of Firenze, Italy. This rococo-style compact box features ornate detailing in an 800 silver case with lovely patina, with hand-painted faux turquoise accents framing an 18th century Francois Boucher-inspired center hand-painted enameled scene. The lovely and bucolic scene depicts a buxom shepherdess seductively lounging on the roots of a large tree while an entranced amorous shepherd intensely gazes at her; sheep and a beautiful river are seen in the background. The interior of the compact features a hand-cut and beveled mirror. The compact is hallmark with “800”, “10”, and the maker’s mark.
CONDITION: The compact presents well and is in very good vintage condition, with very minimal wear/scuffing, tarnish and patina commensurate with age and occasional handling. Please review all photos before purchasing.
