This large and exquisite piece dates to the late 19th/early 20th century and features a colorful and ornate Victorian Art Nouveau style. The piece is beautifully crafted and detailed and made of heavy ceramic, with a baluster-shaped body with tall neck and long dramatic arched handles and round base.
The vase features a life-like three-dimension applied pink iris on its front. The background is glazed a deep and rich blue which brings out the fabulous moriage design of large blooming pink flowers with vivid green leaves, all with gilt raised trim. A dramatic green leaf raised up from behind the iris and continues on to the top of the vase terminating in a swirl inside top. The piece will add grandeur and old-world exotic Victorian style to any interior.
Vase presents well and is in very good antique condition, with minor display wear and patina commensurate with age. There is minor loss to painted/gilt finish, a few skips in glaze and minor manufacturing flaws and stable firing fractures along the base. The left handle has two stable (firing?) fractures on both ends.
Dimensions: 20″ in height, 8.5″ in diameter (at the widest part), 6-3/4″ in diameter (base)
