Description
Today we are delighted to offer for sale a stunning Loetz-inspired art glass vase!
This good sized beautiful vase is in an elongated oval form sometimes referred to as a pod vase, reminiscent of Japanese porcelain designs. We believe this vase can be attributed to Robert Eickholt as it is similar to his hand made art glass Loetz inspired pieces. It is signed and dated but it is a sloppy and illegible signature which looks like “R Eik. . . 2013.” Robert Eickholt is an early innovator in the American studio art glass movement. He created his company Eickholt Glass in 1978 is Columbus, Ohio to produce pieces designed by him but made by artisans in his employ. Because signatures were made by many different people, they are not uniform and often are hard to decipher.
The vase features gorgeous iridescent shades of aqua blue, greens, white and undertones of gold and purple/blue. The vase has a distinct water-like feel and movement in its design.
Vase presents in very good condition, with minimal patina and shelf wear commensurate with age and use. No damage has been noted but please review all photos.
Measures 5.5″ h x 9″ diameter, 3″ opening at the top and 3″ flat base. It has a clear polished pontil and the interior of the vase is highly reflective.
