Today we are delighted to offer for sale a beautiful antique Japanese Arita porcelain charger!.
This large, Palace-sized ceremonial charger, dates to the 19th century and is beautifully crafted and detailed. The piece is generously sized (over 18″ in diameter) and crafted of solid and heavy porcelain. The charger is beautifully hand-painted with traditional bird’s eye view of a Japanese mountainous landscape, with imposing, cloud-shrouded tall mountains framing a wide river, with dramatic trees growing out of the rocky banks. Several boats can be seen making their way down the river, while small pagodas up on stilts grace the right river bank. This is the work of a talented porcelain decorator and is artist signed on the reverse side. This charger will be the focal point of any well-appointed interior and is sure to spark conversation.
