Description
John Eric Byers creates geometrically inspired pieces that are minimal, emotional, and modernly refined. Mastering his uniquely original aesthetic for nearly four decades, John’s individually hand-made work is guided by purity in form, surface texture, structure, and respect for use of materials.
The clock was handcrafted by the artist in 1993 and is signed on the upper back. It is done in the late Memphis/Post Modern style so evocative of the early 1990s. This tall standing clock features a streamlined Gustavian Mora-style case made of red-toned wood with curvaceous shade accented with riveted strips of wood on the sides of the frame. The case features three storage drawers with hand-hammered copper knobs with metal chain tassels. The clock is housed in the uppermost drawer and features a battery-operated Quartz movement. This timeless and clock will look stunning in any well appointed interior and is a must-have for any lover of fine, one-of-a-kind artisan furniture.
