Today we are happy to offer for sale a beautiful antique English wood hall table!
This handsome and stately piece is finely crafted and detailed. The piece appears to be crafted of walnut (or some other fine dark hard wood) and features an English/French late renaissance/early baroque style, with a rectangular wood top with molded beveled edge, a single front drawer with high-relief crosshatch pattern (also extending to the sides) and mounted with a bronze caryatid pull, and lyre-shaped legs with a center curved stretcher. The piece has a true time-earned patina which is wonderful and full of warmth. The top features a charming patched repair which indicates this piece was cherished and appreciated enough by a previous owner long ago to have it mended.
Table presents well and is in very good antique as-found condition, with very minor wear and patina commensurate with age and use. There is some minor loss to the carved lunette design on the front stretcher’s right side facing; the top has a repaired patch done long, long ago.
