Today we are happy to offer for sale a wonderful 1950’s mid century Modern Toy Circus Parade tin battery truck!
This rare battery-operated toy depicts a circus parade truck with side trompe l’oeil windows depicting different circus animals. The truck has a bright red body with red and white stripped rood and yellow and blue accents. The back of the truck depicts a clown and a circus performer. The truck is driven by a plastic clown figure.
The truck is in perfect working condition and when switched on the the clown and driver seat shake and move forward while the horn goes off and the truck moves in a semi-circular motion. The piece is marked on the back “Modern Toys / Made in Japan”.
Set presents well and is in very good vintage condition, with very minor shelf wear and patina commensurate with age and from being gently played with a few times. Battery-operated mechanism is in working condition. Box has minor surface wear and a few distortions commensurate with age.
