Today we are thrilled to be offering for sale a truly beautiful and substantial 1920’s Roseville Pottery Vista/Roseville Forest #134-18″ vase!
This gorgeous Vista/Roseville Forest floor vase was introduced in the 1920’s and features scenes of palm trees decorated in semi-gloss pastels in place greens and lavenders. The vase features four “buttress” handles. This piece might have been intended to be used as a lamp base as the top features a rim on which one could place a lamp vase cap, however this one was never drilled. The vase is marked on the bottom “134-18″”.
The piece presents beautifully and in very good vintage condition, with very minimal display wear and very light scuffing around the bottom. There is normal very light surface crazing to glaze. The vase rocks very slightly when on a flat surface due to the way the mold was cast; the rocking can be easily remedied by using felt pads on the bottom of the piece (which we had on but removed to photograph the piece). No chips, cracks or restorations.
Dimensions: 17-3/4″ in height, 7-3/4″ in diameter (base), 4-5/8″ in diameter (top), 2-1/2″ in diameter (mouth of vase)
