Today we are excited to offer for sale a wonderful vintage lucite sculpture of galloping stallions! This truly special piece is expertly and intricately made of clear amber and peridot-colored acrylic lucite. The statue depicts highly detailed galloping horses that are very much in the manner of Gian Lorenzo Bernini (1598-1680), the court sculptor to Louis XIV. The piece is spectacular in the brilliant light, and the translucency of the lucite captures the light and movement of the horses beautifully. The piece is mounted on a felt-bottomed wood base, and is unsigned. Sculpture and base both in very good vintage condition, with very minor wear and patina commensurate with age. The right leg of the upper horse has an internal manufacturing flaw (hardly noticeable – see last picture). A wonderful opportunity to add Mid Century Modern elegance and irreverence to any room in your home or business! Fresh to the market!
