DESCRIPTION: This listing is for a beautiful pair of vintage busts by Italian artist Giuseppe Vasari! Crafted of silvered bronze atop stepped marbled onyx bases, these are star-crossed lovers Romeo and Juliet. Each bust is finely crafted and detailed, with highly articulated expressions and gilt overlay and accents on hair and head pieces.
Juliet bust is signed on edge; Romeo is signed on back of vest. As is common when working with stone, there are fissures visible on the underside of each base. These are not visible when viewing the pieces and, given the way they have been professionally joined, are clearly from the creation of the piece.

CONDITION: Busts are offered in very good, as-found vintage condition, with minimal loss of gilding and finish. Some small fleabites/roughness are present on the corners of the stepped bases. Fissures on the underside of the pieces are from the creation and should not be considered damage. Please review all photos. Thank you!
DIMENSIONS/ea: appx. 6-3/4″ in total height (Romeo is ever so slightly taller due to the feather in his hat), bases measure 4-3/4″ in square.
