One of the Finest Antique Victorian Tea Sets We’ve Seen! Here we have an exquisitely made and very ornate Victorian Antique James Dixon and Sons Silver Plate four-piece Tea/Coffee Set that likely dates to the mid-1800s. Comprised of a teapot, a coffee pot, an open sugar or waste bowl, and creamer; the latter two with gilt-washed interiors. Classical chased and finely engraved design, acanthine capped scroll feet and handles complemented by bone spacers – all intact, and ornate painstakingly handmade floral knobs. This set has not been polished and retains an old and mellow patina – showing signs of tarnish here and there that we’ll leave to the new owner to either clean or retain. The entire set is water-tight and ready to use, or would make a beautiful display set worthy of the grandest surroundings.
Excellent Antique Condition. Virtually pristine with no dents to be found save for two tiny dings on the waste bowl that you may never find unless you search as hard as we did. Signed with James Dixon & Sons (D*S) Trademark and the letters G.B. (Great Britain?).
