Today we are happy to offer for sale a stunning pair of antique Royal Worcester porcelain vase lamps! This exquisite and luxurious pair of lamps is the epitome of fine English style and craftsmanship.
Royal Worcester was established in 1751 and is believed to be the oldest or second oldest remaining English porcelain company still in existence today. Royal Worcester remains in the luxury tableware and giftware market, producing exquisite wares collected by a discerning clientele including heads of state and royals.
The lamps are beautifully done and finely crafted and detailed. Each lamp incorporates an antique 19th century Royal Worcester Victorian porcelain urn vase. The vases are exquisite and truly beautiful, featuring ornate Aesthetic Beaux Art neoclassical detailing, with fanciful lion-headed handles with swags and caryatids on a cream ground with gilded detailing. The body of the vase features a gorgeous pearlescent ground with a under layer of blue and white glaze forming blooming flowers picked out in gilding. The lamps feature ormolu metal hardware, with an ornate dolphin base attached to an etched floral curved-corner square base. The lamps feature neoclassical wreath finials. Both lamps are in working order and come with fine-quality cream shades.
Lamps present beautifully and are in very good vintage, working, condition, with minor wear and patina commensurate with age. No chips or cracks. There is minor oxidation and loss to brass plating on bases. One lamp has a different plug and its cord is faded. (We will have lamps professionally rewired with cord color of your choice for $30 each. Please inquire after purchase and payment and we will send you a separate invoice for this work). Add elegant English Country House style and grace to any interior with this fabulous pair of lamps…Fresh to the market!
