Today we are happy to offer for sale a wonderful antique (not repro) Huber Hubley cast iron Steam Driven Road Roller model toy!
The Hubley Manufacturing Company (founded in 1894) produced a wide range of cast-iron toys, doorstops, and bookends. Toys, particularly motor vehicles and cap guns, were also produced in zinc alloy and plastic. The company is probably most well known for its detailed scale metal kits of Classic cars in about 1:20 scale. Many Hubley toys are now sought-after collectibles.
This circa 1928 cast iron model is nicely crafted and detailed. It depicts a road steam-driven roller complete with boiler tank center, steam engine design with raised roof all painted in orange with black highlights, nickel plated cast iron wheels, rollers, and valve wheels. Marked “Huber”. Model presents well and is in good antique condition, with minor wear, oxidation and patina commensurate with age and some play. There is minor loss to painted finish. Missing only the chains (easily replaced) this example is remarkably well preserved. This great Huber toy model will make a great addition to any antique cast iron toy collection…Fresh to the market!
