Today we are happy to offer for sale a lovely antique 19th century Chinese export porcelain vase. This exquisite piece is hand-painted and embellished in a Famille Rose/ Rose Medallion pattern, which features a multitude of bright and vibrant colors such as green, pink, and blue. The vase features embellished handles shaped like descending Foo dogs, with applied three dimensional draped swag decorations. The front panel features a floral and bird motif, while the back panel features a butterfly floral motif. The borders and additional painted panels are embellished with c-scrolls and floral motifs. This piece was made in China for the European market, where the demand for high quality Chinese export pieces was in great demand in the 18th and 19th centuries. The vase is in very good antique condition, with very minimal display wear and patina. There are a few small (and hard to notice) manufacturing imperfections that do not detract from the beauty of the piece. The right “swag” decoration on the front of the base has a small spot that is un-glazed/painted. No chips or cracks. Overall a most pleasing vase that will add refinement and elegance to any fine collection. Fresh to the market!
