Today we are delighted to offer for sale a stunning antique French Baroque-style cast brass vanity mirror! This fabulous Victorian-era piece is intricately and expertly crafted and detailed, and though unmarked most likely made by Bradley and Hubbard (however they did have some competent competition). The mirror features an ornate brass frame styled in the grand Baroque Louis XIV style. The rectangular-shaped frame features a foliate molded frame topped by a floral pediment adorned with mythical sea creatures and a pair of lions interspersed with a blank coat of arms topped with a crown. The mirror is beautifully beveled and original and has a lovely time-worn patina. The mirror features a brass-sheet backing and original (and exceptional) easel for use on a table-top; the mirror also features a built-in hanging loop for wall use. The mirror will look fabulous on a gracious vanity dressing table! Mirror presents very well and is in very good antique condition, with very minor wear/tarnishing and a pleasing patina commensurate with age and light use. There is very minor loss to silvering/cloudiness in mirror backing (you could have it re-silvered if you wished). Item sold as-found. Add old world Victorian elegance and grandeur to any room in your home with this gorgeous and delicate mirror. Fresh to the market!
Dimensions: 20-5/8″ in height, 12-7/8″ in width, 13″ in depth (with easel open)
