Today we are happy to offer for sale a wonderful antique 19th century bicycle/carriage search light lamp! This awesome piece is finely crafted of metal (it appears to be nickel-plated brass) and features a magnifying front glass lens reflector mounted on a hollow neck piece with inset red and blue/green faceted glass “jewels” (perhaps an early form of stop and go signaling?). The search light includes the original mounting bracket. This piece was most likely used in conjunction with a oil lamp to magnify the light given out by the flame, to guide the way of the bicycle/buggy/carriage in darkness. The piece is marked “13 12 16 MI Concave”. The search light presents beautifully and is in very good antique condition, with wear/scuffing/oxidation and patina commensurate with age and type of use. Search light is being sold as-is – ready for easy refurbishing. This is a rare and hard-to-find antique jeweled search light! A great piece for Rat Rods, or for any car or bike/bicycle project in general. From a frozen in time New England garage. Fresh to the market!
Dimensions: 3-1/8″ in diameter, 7-3/4″ in depth, 3-1/4″ in width
