Today we are delighted to be offering for sale an exquisite and very beautiful antique Japanese cloisonne koro censor jar! This piece has a truly wonderful aura and it just glows! The stunning crushed aventurine stone burnt orange background has a magnificent iridescence; this piece is out of this world! Dating from the Meiji period (1868-1912) this piece is the epitome of high technical quality and artistry of Japanese cloisonne. Although unmarked, this ginger jar/vase has the characteristics of other pieces made by world-renowned Japanese cloisonne firm Ando. This lovely vase features a lovely intertwined butterfly and floral design over glittering aventurine background; with oxblood red, royal blue, and other hues of greens and blues designed into geometric forms. The interior is glazed in green. The vase stands 5 1/8″ in tall and 5 1/2″ wide. In very good antique condition, with very minor wear from being on display. There is one very small and faint area of abrasion near a flower (hardly noticeable – please see last photo). A sophisticated piece that will add worldliness and refinement to any room in your home or business. A treasure for the collector with a discerning eye. Fresh to the market!
