Today we are happy to offer for sale an all-original and all-American Singer Sewing Machine Featherweight model 221, from 1935! This very wonderful piece of American Industrial machinery is over 70 years old and works and looks as good as new! Since its creation by Isaac Singer in 1851, the Singer Sewing machine company has produced the most beloved sewing machines in the world! The company is still in business! This particular sewing machine, the Featherweight model 221 was first introduced in 1933 and was in production for 36 years! This piece is a true work horse! Featuring an elegant black paint finish with gilded detailing, this machine dates from 1935 (production number AE003729). The machine’s mechanism to move the needle is very simple and allows you to start slowly when stitching and change sewing speed easily. Being able to start slowly ensures that your fabric is lined up correctly. The device’s matching black pedal fits snugly under the foot. Its winder belt makes it easy to thread a bobbin. It is suitable to fit an array of attachments. This Singer sewing machine model 221 only creates straight stitches, making it a good choice for simple projects. You can perform alterations on clothing, mend seam rips, and work on home décor projects like pillows and blankets. It’s a favorite among quilters too. You will be able to work with a variety of fabrics when using the Singer appliance. Antique models like the Featherweight are heavy-duty and can sew through thick fabrics with ease. This sewing machine comes with the original carrying case and key which includes a tray with vintage sewing accessories and threads. The machine is in very good vintage condition, with very minor wear and patina commensurate with age and type of use. In working condition and recently cleaned and oiled. Case in good vintage condition, with wear commensurate with age and type of use; ends of leather handle are worn off. This would be the perfect starter sewing machine for a sewist! Would make a great addition to any fine Singer Sewing machine collection but this one is not just for looking at… it is a workhorse… ready to go. Fresh to the market!
