Today we are happy to offer for sale a lovely pair of vintage Sherrie Wolf artist signed and numbered still life art prints! Sherrie Wolf is an American photo-realistic painter and print-maker based in Portland, Oregon who has won multiple awards for her work. She has been described as “one of Portland’s most prominent artists”. Wolf’s work is known for its postmodernism approach of appropriating elements from classical art alongside her own work. She often uses historical art as the background to boldly colored still lives. One commentator noted that by placing realistically portrayed flowers, fruit, and vases of water before reproductions of Vermeer, it was difficult to decide whether the Old Master paintings were to be read as actual backdrop, or simply as paintings used as backgrounds. These wonderful prints are both expertly mounted in elegant black and gilt composite frames with glass. The first print is titled “Stripes and Pear” 153/200 and signed by the artist. The print depicts a still life of a black and white striped cloth sensuously draped around glass objects, including a bowl with a pear, with a gilded Coromandel screen panel in the background. The second print is titled “Cookie Tin” 124/200 and signed by the artist. The print depicts a plate with cookies alongside a sparkling vase and old-fashioned cookie tins, with a striped cloth in the background. Both prints feature a muted and sophisticated color palette. The prints present beautifully and are in very good condition, with very minimal display wear. Frames are in good condition, with very minimal wear/scuffing. Add elegance and refinement to any interior with this wonderful pair of high quality art prints. A special set that displays beautifully together!
Dimensions of each print: 21-1/8″ in height, 21-1/8″ in width, 7/8″ in depth
