Today we are happy to offer for sale a wonderful vintage 1990’s Memphis-style ceramic art sculpture! The Memphis Group was an Italian design and architecture group founded by Ettore Sottsass in 1980 that designed Postmodern furniture, fabrics, ceramics, glass, and metal objects. The Memphis group’s work often incorporated plastic laminate and was characterized by ephemeral design featuring colorful and abstract decoration as well as asymmetrical shapes, sometimes arbitrarily alluding to exotic or earlier styles. This Memphis-inspired 1990’s art piece features the a stylized face decorated with geometric colorful motifs. The piece is footed on the back side and can be displayed flat on a surface of hung on a wall. The piece is signed on the back “TBL(?)” ’90. Piece presents beautifully and is in excellent vintage condition, with very minimal display wear. There is one very small fleabite chip on the lower left side. No cracks. Add timeless Memphis style to any interior with this stylish piece! Fresh to the market!
