The ornament depicts a majestic flying Cormorant bird. The cormorant hood ornament was introduced as a senior or deluxe hood ornament in the early 1930 by Packard. It was in use until 1957, at last in highly stylized form. This rare and hard to find ornament is in very good vintage condition, with wear/oxidation and patina commensurate with age and type of use.
