Today we are offering for sale a lovely and darling 1930’s Shirley Temple doll by Ideal Co. From her first movie in 1932 when she was only 3 until her retirement at age 22 in 1950, Shirley Temple (1928-2014) was the most famous, beloved, and iconic child movie star of all time. This fabulous 20″ tall composition doll, made by Ideal, features beautiful blond mohair, open/sleep eyes, open mouth with teeth, and what appears to be the original clothes, which includes a peach-colored satin dress, and undershirt and underpants. The back of the doll is stamped “Shirley Temple”, and the back of her head is stamped “Shirley Temple/Ideal”. This lovely doll is in good, played-with antique condition, with minor wear and patina throughout. There are no breaks or cracks. There is scattered light crazing to skin. The eyes have crystallization from age. The clothes have minor wear and yellowing. The wig needs styling. The arms and head are slightly loose (the inner elastic cord that keeps the limbs tight needs to be re-adjusted). Display stand not included. This sweet, wholesome, and angelic doll will make a sweet addition to any collection! Fresh to the market!
