Tolman was is known for portrait, landscape, and interiors art. Tolman was a pupil of Boulanger, LeFelore, and Cabaud in Paris. This gorgeous late 19th century oil on canvas (mounted on board) painting is masterfully executed in traditional style and technique. The painting depicts a mother and child in Davis Park in Providence, RI. The painting features beautiful and vivid colors. The oil is framed in an elegant and understated gilt wood frame, and is ready to be hung, admired, and enjoyed! Signed on lower right corner. Painting present beautifully and is in very good antique condition, with very minor display wear and patina. Painting surface is clean and bright and free of any visible repairs.
