  • Antique “Indonesian” Console Table
  • Southeast Asian styling c. late 1800’s
  • Unsigned, possibly Indonesian in origin
  • Constructed of solid hardwoods
  • Though we are not wood grain specialists, we strongly suspect this to be constructed largely of “Rhodesian Teak”, an extraordinarily hard & heavy wood native to Southeast Africa, an area with established trade ties to Southeast Asia
  • Stylishly carved ‘scroll’ supports & stretchers
  • Large crosshatch bas relief, or frieze, pattern

45&5/16″ length x 28&3/8″ width x 34″ height, overall
29&1/2″ length x 23&3/8″ width, at base
22&1/2″ length x 17&3/4″ width x 3&1/2″ height
overall weight 113 lbs (51 kg)
note the considerable weight, given the relatively small amount of wood employed, overall, due to the extraordinary density of the woods used!

Item is fully functional, and in Excellent-minus Antique Condition. Downgrade to “-minus” for some loss to the carved lunette design on the front stretcher’s right side facing, and that the top appears to have been patched long ago (please see images).
